With our extensive experience on a motorcycle in Bolivia, we made a ‘Bolivia Only’ tour. We’d like to think that Bolivia is an underestimated country. This tour starts and finishes in the high altitude city of La Paz. From there we will cross the Altiplano and the salt flats of Uyuni, climb ‘Death Road’, and see the real capital: Sucre. Follow the Ché trail in the tourist-less interior of Bolivia. A perfect mix of nature, culture and adventure.
In our opinion you can not appreciate Bolivia on a motorcycle completely without riding some dirt- and gravel roads. So, we included about 700 kilometers of unpaved roads. Not enduro style, but you need basic experience on unpaved roads. Nothing to be scared of ! We will guide you through !

Kitty
To avoid long waits during stops with paying all individually for just a cup of coffee or an ice cream, we normally install a group wallet ('Kitty') for these kind of costs. This makes everybody’s life easier, but only works when everybody participates in this. We suggest to start with a deposit of US$ 50.00 p.p.
Damage Reduction Insurance (in short !)
Personal injury and death:
All our motorcycles are insured according to the minimum requirements of the Bolivian authorities (SOAT). This means that the rider, his passenger AND third parties are limited (!) covered for medical costs.
Nevertheless, we strongly advise our guests to get a health insurance with maximum coverage in Peru, for the length of this tour, because you don’t want to depend on the Peruvian SOAT-insurance.
Damage to the rental motorcycle and third party property damage:
All our motorcycles are standard NOT INSURED for damage to the rental motorcycle AND for property damage to third parties. The optional ‘Damage Reduction Insurance’ covers this kind of damage, with an excess/deductible of max. US$ 700.00, which is also the amount of the “Security Deposit” (cash or major credit card: Visa, MasterCard, Amex or Diners Club), and your maximum risk.
For this tour the all insurance premiums are included. Deductible is max. US$ 500.00.
Without this insurance the rider/renter of the motorcycle is fully liable for all costs of damage to the rental motorcycle and third party property. In this case the “Security Deposit” is US$ 2,500.00 (cash or major credit card), but your maximum risk is NOT LIMITED to this amount !
Day 1 : Arrival in La Paz (Bolivia)
On day one you will arrive at the international airport of La Paz in Bolivia (IATA Airport Code: LPB). We will pick you up from the airport and bring you to the hotel. Your tour guide will do the briefing for the whole group about the upcoming tour. And he will arrange all the necessary paperwork with you. The rest of the day is at leisure in La Paz.

PS: It is a good suggestion to arrive 1 or more days earlier than the start of the tour to acclimatize to the extreme altitude.
Day 2 : La Paz - Sajama
It is finally time to start our engines. To get out of the city is our first challenge. On our way to Sajama NP.

Day 3 : Sajama - Jirira
From Sajama to Jirira on the shores of the Uyuni Salt Flats

Day 4 : Jirira - Uyuni
Over the salt flats to Uyuni, where Chris & Sussy make the best pizzas on the southern hemisphere.

Day 5: Uyuni - Potosi
From the flats to the highest city in the world

From the highest city in the world to the official capital of Bolivia

From the capital to the place where Ché Guevara met his end.

In the morning we climb on the old ‘Death Road’, on our way to the finish of the tour in La Paz.

Day 14: Departure from La Paz
