In a relative (!) short tour PeruMotors shows you windy Patagonia on a guided motorcycle tour. A good mix of nature and fantastic motorcycling over paved and unpaved roads. Every rider wants to go to Patagonia. And so do we !
We provide the motorcycles, hotels, guides, etc. All is taken care of.
Closer to Antarctica you can not go. This is the end of the world. In Chile we ride the “Carretera Austral” and in Argentina the “Ruta 40”, the two most famous roads in South America. We will ride long stretches of paved and unpaved parts of these routes. Of course the un-official capital of Patagonia, San Carlos de Bariloche is on the itinerary. But there is so much more to experience on this tour.

The kitty will be used exclusively for:
* On resting days the motorcycles are not available for riding
Before (!) you complete your booking and first deposit, please read our “Terms & Conditions” carefully.
Personal injury and death:
All our motorcycles are insured according to the minimum requirements of the Chilean and Argentinian authorities. This means that the rider, his passenger AND third parties are covered for medical (!) costs.
Nevertheless, PeruMotors strongly advise their guests to obtain a descent health insurance with maximum coverage in Argentina and Chile for the length of this tour.
Damage to the rental motorcycle and third party property damage:
Included in the package is an insurance which covers damage to the rental motorcycle AND for property damage to third parties, with a deductible/excess of max. US$ 1,200.00.
At the start of the tour the participant must leave a “Security Deposit” of US$ 1,200.00 for the rental motorcycle. We prefer a credit card authorization above cash for this amount.
If you surrender the motorcycle without any damage, we will return the “Security Deposit” directly to you.
If you caused any damage to your rental motorcycle or a third party, this will be settled with the “Security Deposit”.
Please, contact us for more information about this insurance.
You will arrive in Temuco via Santiago by airplane on day one. When all participants arrived in Puerto Natales your tour guide will arrange the briefing of the upcoming tour. And he will arrange the necessary paperwork and the “Security Deposit” for the motorcycle with you.
It is finally time to start our engines on our first riding day. We will ride mostly on beautiful unpaved roads through the very impressive Torres del Paine National Park. Don’t forget your camera, because the views are really spectacular. One of the many highlights during this tour. In the late afternoon we ride back to Puerto Natales for the night.
Windy Patagonia ! We are on our way to ‘Tierra del Fuego’. But first we’ll have to cross the always windy ‘Straits of Magellan’. We take the ferry to Tierra del Fuego. Once on the island, we follow our route to Porvenir, where we stay for the night.
A long riding day in ‘Tierra del Fuego’ on our way to Ushuaia, the world’s most southern city. Because Ushuaia is an Argentinian city, the first border crossing of the tour lies ahead of us.
‘Day 5’ is a day of choice. Or, you can go with your tour guide to the “End of the World”-park on your motorcycle. Or, you want to discover Ushuaia and its surroundings, like a boat trip on the world famous Beagle channel. It is up to you !
From here the only way is up north. Another long riding day. Today we stay on ‘Tierra del Fuego’, and end up in the small town of Cerro Sombrero.
Further north back on the Magellan ferry, and about 55 km further down the road another border crossing again into Argentina. A long and windy road over the Argentinian pampa’s. We end up in one of the most touristic cities in Argentina: El Calafate.
On ‘Day 8’ we go on our motorcycles to the Glaciares National Park and see the glacier for ourselves (160 km. / 100 mi.). You can really hear (!) the glacier moving. This is absolutely one of the most impressive places on earth.
We follow the world famous ‘Ruta 40’ north bound. The first coffee stop is at a historical hide-out of Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid: La Leona. Then from Tres Lagos the road is unpaved for about 80 km. / 50 mi. Hopefully we can find fuel in touristless Gobernador Gregores. Just outside this town we stay in an authentic estancia (farm). You might end up in a tent.
A long connection day. Out of the estancia, we turn right in the direction of the Chilean border. Via Bajo Caracoles and Perito Moreno we reach the border. On the Chilean side the road changes into a unpaved gravel road. In about 80 km. / 50 mi. we reach our destination of today. A very nice lodge in the middle-of-nowhere.
Day 11 is a well deserved resting day. The lodge offers several local activities to relax.
Back on the unpaved road. Soon we hit the ‘Carretera Austral’, the world famous road in southern Chile, buikt by Gral. Pinochet. We ride further north, and after about 200 km / 120 mi. the road surface turns into asphalt. Our destination today is the little quiet Patagonian town of Coyhaique.
Again a beautiful riding day along the mighty Andes. The views are really spectacular. By the end of the day we arrive in La Junta. A small town with a nice hotel/restaurant.
Still north bound on the ‘Carretera Austral’. From Santa Lucia the road turns into gravel, all the way to Futaleufu. Time for lunch. After lunch we cross the border into Argentina. Another stretch of gravel waits for us. In Trevelin we are back on the pavement. The day ends in Esquel, a nice town.
A little back tracking to the Alerces National Park. In the park the roads are all unpaved. The pay off are beautiful views. The lunch is in El Bolson, the UFO city. And we end up in Bariloche, the ‘Aspen’ of Argentina.
On the east slopes of the Andes we ride north bound to Junin de los Andes.
About 60 km. / 40 mi. on unpaved roads today.
Before you know it are we already on the last riding of the tour. For the last time we cross the border into Chile. In Villarrica we surrender the motorcycles. In one of the many good restaurants in town we have our farewell-dinner.
Today we organize your transfer to Temuco Airport for your flight back home.
